Recruitment of new beneficiaries
During the year 2020, the Foundation Board continued to focus on strengthening the dialogue with the new generation of interpreters to encourage them to join CPIC, by continuing to distribute the brochure* presenting the Fund electronically, by strengthening contact with interpreting schools and attendance at interpreters’ meetings. In addition, it continued a discussion on expanding the means of communication in view of the generational renewal of beneficiaries.

Importance of regular savings
The Foundation Board also wishes to emphasise the importance of regular savings, based on contributions from international institutions and organisations as well as personal payments, and invested over the long term in occupational pension provision. The example shows that regular savings are rewarded in the long term at the time of retirement, a message that should encourage young interpreters to join CPIC from their first contract. Personal Paiements
The Foundation Board reminds beneficiaries that, during years when beneficiaries do not receive any employer contributions, CPIC membership is maintained and the capital continues to grow. Beneficiaries may make personal contributions of up to CHF 40’000.- or EUR 40’000.- per year at any time in order to increase their retirement savings.
Elections
The Assembly re-elected one of its members, Anne-Marie ARBAJI-SFEIR, and elected a new member to the Foundation Board, Françoise LANDGRAF, to replace Dominique BAZ.
The General Assembly also accepted the proposal of the Foundation Board to renew the mandate of Jacques-André SCHNEIDER as President for a new statutory period.
